Lansing — Suzanna Shkreli, a former lottery commissioner and member of Gov. Gretchen Whitmer's cabinet, announced Monday she'll run to be Michigan's next secretary of state, potentially shaking up what's become a crowded Democratic convention race.

Shkreli, 38, of Birmingham, is the fourth Democrat seeking the position in 2026. Democratic state convention attendees will pick their party's nominee on April 19 .
