A possible change to Asda's protocol has sparked fear amongst employees as the supermarket plans a major crackdown.
The grocer, which has over 1,000 branches in the UK, is reportedly plotting a crackdown on sick days as part of an ongoing consultation process.
Asda bosses are said to have drawn up tougher disciplinary rules which could increase the chance of staff being sacked for taking consecutive periods off ill, the Telegraph reported.
At the moment, the supermarket's regulations stipulate that workers with an absence rate of three per cent or more are marked for a review, with two informal stages after this point.

After this, the system dictates management would launch a formal disciplin
