CHARDON, Ohio — Many shoppers hunting for holiday gifts are turning away from big box retailers, lured by the creativity and specialized products of craftsmen and women across Northeast Ohio.

These talented artists pour their hearts into their work. Local Christmas markets give them the chance to sell and us the chance to buy unique gifts for our loved ones.

In Geauga County, busy holiday shoppers filled Ransom Sage Farm in Chardon, looking for the perfect gift. This year, 24 vendors are plying their wares: handcrafted, artisan-made artistry. Each filling a niche they hope connects with the consumer.

Andrea Hart of Elderberry Marsh Farm in Middlefield has been here since the beginning.

"We specialize in all things elderberry, handmade elderberry ornaments," she explained.
