GRAND FORKS – The former Macy’s store at the Columbia Mall may have a possible buyer.
A listing for the space on Dakota Commercial’s website was updated Friday to say the property management company has received a contingent offer on the store’s former location and is accepting backup offers. The property is listed for $1.9 million.
Mayor Brandon Bochenski said he thinks it’s a positive step to see some development at the Columbia Mall, especially with a larger parcel comparable to the Scheels store on the other side of the building.
“Even having something happen at those end caps would be great, because something has to kick off further development of the whole mall,” he said. "So it’s positive, and we’ll wait to see what develops and who the buyers are.”
