The freezing rain warning has ended for Weyburn, but the storm system moving through the southeast is shifting gears, bringing strong winds, snow, and a rapid drop in temperature.

Environment Canada has issued a wind warning for southeast Saskatchewan, with gusts expected to reach 90 km/h this afternoon.

While the rain tapered off during the morning, before starting to pick up again with a light drizzle just before noon, meteorologist James Colangelo warned that residents shouldn't be fooled by the temporary break in the weather.

"There is one weather element done and more on the way," Colangelo said.
