Saskatchewan's Highway Hotline reported snowy and icy road conditions across southern Saskatchewan on Tuesday morning, advising people to avoid travel outside of some major centres.

As of 6 a.m., all roads leading in and out of Estevan were closed due to ice conditions.

Freezing rain and snowfall expected across southern Saskatchewan

Travel is also not recommended along Highway 1 from Regina as far west as Mortlach, as well as on most roads heading south.

The conditions were due to a low pressure storm system that began moving through the province on Monday night, bringing snow and freezing rain conditions.
