TOWN OF HOUNSFIELD, New York (WWNY) - Parts of the North Country saw record cold on Tuesday.
The National Weather Service says the temperature dipped to 16 degrees below zero during the overnight hours at the Watertown International Airport.
That shattered the record of 8 degrees below zero set in 2000.
The normal temperature for this date is 21 degrees above zero.
