VANDERBURGH CO., Ind. (WFIE) - Several Indiana cities and counties received funding to spend on road improvements and similar projects.
Gibson, Vanderburgh, Posey and Dubois counties received the maximum award of $1 million. Other Tri-State counties, like Spencer and Pike counties, got smaller amounts.
Local leaders say it’s all about maintaining Tri-State roads.
The funding comes from state of Indiana’s Community Crossings program.
Cities, towns, and counties have to apply for the money and tell the state how they’d use the funds.
Vanderburgh County received the maximum award this year. They say it would be difficult to do all the projects without it.
