For the first time since 2019 the Abilene Cowgirls have opened the season with a pair of victories.
The Cowgirls played host to the Towanda Circle Lady Thunderbirds on Friday night and held on for an exciting 46-44 victory. Abilene would find themselves trailing entering the final quarter, but would pull ahead 33-32 at the 5:17 mark with a Tessa Herrman made three pointer. Herrman would once again lead the Cowgirls with a game high 19 points.
