In a chilling Christmas horror story, a man donned a Santa Claus outfit, drove to his former in-laws' home where his ex-wife lived, and brutally murdered nine people either by shooting them or through arson. This infamous incident, known as the Covina massacre , was perpetrated by a vengeful ex-husband, Bruce Jeffrey Pardo, on Christmas Eve 2008 in Los Angeles County, California.

At around 11.30pm, 45-year-old Bruce travelled 20 miles to Covina, where his ex-wife Sylvia and her family were hosting a Christmas party, and opened fire on the 25 attendees. When Bruce rang the doorbell, his eight-year-old niece, unsuspecting due to his Santa costume, answered the door and was tragically shot in the face.
