GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — A deadly multiple-vehicle wreck shut down Highway 316 in Gwinnett County on Wednesday afternoon, according to police.
Lawrenceville Police said that officers responded to a crash on 316 involving three vehicles around 12:50 p.m. on Wednesday. Officers found a driver of one of the vehicles dead at the scene.
The eastbound lanes of SR 316 were closed at Collins Hill Road until the investigation was complete. The crash happened just before the Gwinnett County Airport at Briscoe Field. The highway reopened just after 4:30 p.m.
The highway is a highly-trafficked roadway that gets people from the metro Atlanta area to Athens, Georgia.
