Deputies were called shortly before 6:45 a.m. on Dec. 10 to the intersection of Three Notch Road and Charlotte Hall School Road in Charlotte Hall to investigate a reported crash trapped with serious injuries in a Hyundai Tucson, officials said.
It was determined that a the gray Hyundai was heading north on Three Notch Road and tried to turn left onto Charlotte Hall School Road when it failed to yield, crossed into the southbound lanes, and was struck by a 2015 Ford F-150 XLT driven by Maynor Caal Choc, 28, of Lanham.
The impact left the Hyundai driver critically injured.
The sheriff’s office said the victim was airlifted by Maryland State Police Aviation Command Trooper 7 to a nearby trauma center with life-threatening injuries.
Speed does not appear to be a factor at this time.
Because of the severity of the crash, the Collision Reconstruction Unit responded and has taken over the investigation.
