HOUSTON COUNTY, Ga. — Delivery trucks can be spotted on almost every street this holiday season. With more packages piling up on doorsteps, porch pirates are on the move.
For Mardhiya Green, the holiday season took an unfortunate turn after she discovered a package meant for her and her sister was gone.
“It made my heart sink that her package didn’t come and that me and my sister didn’t get our bracelets for Christmas,” Green said.
Green said she discovered the theft soon after getting a delivery notification.
“We went outside because it said delivered and we didn’t see it on our step,” Green said.
Houston County Sheriff Matt Moulton said Green’s story is one of many reported this time of year.
“In the morning, we may end up with 50, 60, 75 reports,” Moulton said.
