GLENDALE (AZFamily) — A Glendale police officer who once faced devastating injuries, post-traumatic stress disorder and the threat of forced retirement is now celebrating his health and a major promotion — a journey he said came down to one thing: choice.
Two years ago, Officer Wade Kamman was taken off patrol after a motorcycle crash. Today he is a lieutenant with the Glendale Police Department and is reflecting on how the lowest point in his life became a turning point.
“Throughout high school and then in college, I took some criminal justice classes and it piqued my interest,” Kamman said.
That interest led him to the Glendale Police Department — a positive decision but not an easy path.
