The recent surge of tennis players being found to have committed match-fixing has risen again, with one French star being punished for their contribution
French tennis player Quentin Folliot has been slapped with a whopping 20-year ban and a fine of £52,146 ($70,000) after being found guilty of match-fixing, as confirmed by the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA). He is the sixth player to face punishment following an investigation into the scandal.
In addition to the hefty fine, he's also been ordered to pay back over £32,777 ($44,000). These are believed to be "corrupt payments" linked to 27 violations of the Tennis Anti-Corruption Program (TACP).
The length of his ban means he won't be able to return to the sport until May 2044, and even then, he'll only be allowed back
