MANCHESTER, Conn. (WFSB) - Manchester High School went into lockdown Thursday afternoon after police learned that someone allegedly carrying a weapon was on their way to campus.
The lockdown began around 1:25 p.m. when Manchester police got word that an armed person was allegedly heading to the school to meet with a student there. Officers immediately called the school, which triggered lockdown procedures.
Police moved quickly to track down the suspect, who was arrested without incident. The all-clear came just 13 minutes later at 1:38 p.m.
Students and staff remained safely inside classrooms during the brief lockdown while police handled the situation outside, the superintendent said.
