TRAVERSE CITY — Benjamin Marentette is set to become the City Manager of Traverse City starting Dec. 16, following a recommendation by Mayor Amy Shamroe and Mayor Pro Tem Laura Ness.
The proposed employment agreement for Benjamin Marentette outlines an annual salary of $202,837.20, effective once the board approves, which includes a rolled-in car allowance and represents an increase from his current salary $187,464.00.
Marentette was appointed interim City Manager back in July.
Mayor Amy Shamroe, in a memo to the City Commission, stated, “We were able to come to a consensus regarding terms and the Mayor Pro Tem, and I recommend the agreement to the City Commission for adoption.”
The agreement includes provisions for termination, allowing for 60 days’ advance notice if Marentette resign
