Vehicle fire shuts down 34th Street in Mount Rainier

1MOUNT RAINIER, MD – A vehicle fire at 34th Street and Arundel Road brought traffic to a standstill Thursday afternoon as emergency crews worked to contain the blaze.

The fire, reported around 4 p.m., drew a full response from both police and fire department units.

Officials confirmed the flames were quickly extinguished and no injuries have been reported.

Drivers were urged to steer clear of the area as roadblocks and detours were set up while crews handled cleanup and investigation.
