CLEVELAND — Gingerbread houses are a holiday staple - frosting, gumdrops and the occasional bite. But Cleveland artist Sarah Wagner’s creations are something else entirely: painstaking, architectural replicas of city landmarks made from hundreds of gingerbread pieces.
Wagner, a graphic artist and video editor by day, has built gingerbread versions of the West Side Market, Terminal Tower and E. 4th Street. This year she was commissioned by the Cleveland Public Library to mark the library’s centennial. She says this project came with some extra perks.
