CLEVELAND — Ohio manufacturing leaders are sounding the alarm after the federal government suspended funding for manufacturing development, forcing the state to follow suit and putting more than 100 jobs and support services for 14,000 state manufacturers at risk.

MAGNET is a nonprofit organization in Northeast Ohio that supports small and medium-sized manufacturers. The nonprofit's CEO and president, Ethan Karp, says this suspension of funds will be devastating to their work.

"Every year, 2,000 new jobs in our local companies are created because of the work that we do with them," Karp told 3News in an interview. "All of those numbers are going to drop when we drop roughly around 40 staff people if this decision holds."
