VIDOR, Texas — The Vidor City Council has appointed Rodney Johnson as the city’s new chief of police.
“On behalf of the Vidor Police Officer Association, we are proud to congratulate Rodney Johnson as our new Chief of Police,” the Vidor Police Association said in a Facebook post.
According to the post, Johnson is a longtime Vidor resident who has lived in the community for 13 years. He is a father of four, and his wife also works for the City of Vidor. “Together they have built their family and their future right here alongside the people he protects,” the association said.
The association said Johnson rose through the ranks of the department and earned the respect of his peers through “hard work, integrity, and a genuine commitment to both the department and the community.” The post
