HOLTVILLE — Members of the American Legion Bradley-Keffer Post 138 and the American Legion Auxiliary Post 138 gathered Monday evening, December 1st, at the American Legion Hall on 6th Street for a joint meeting featuring presentations from this year’s Boys and Girls State representatives.

Kyle Self, a senior at Holtville High School, attended American Legion Boys State at Sacramento State University this past summer. He spoke to the assembled Legionnaires about his week serving in a mock city government and learning the inner workings of local and state affairs. Kyle shared how he was inspired by his grandmother, an elementary school teacher who encouraged her young students to correspond with deployed service members.
