Jurors will hear the final, competing narratives in the Brian Walshe murder trial Friday, as attorneys are set to walk them through the key evidence one last time during closing arguments in Norfolk Superior Court before deliberations begin.

On Thursday morning, Walshe’s defense team rested before calling a single witness to take the stand. Prosecutors had rested their case the day before, after a day of emotional testimony .

Walshe is standing trial for allegedly killing his wife, Ana, on New Year’s Day 2023. Prosecutors say he then dismembered her body and tossed her remains in dumpsters around the region, including one near his mother’s home in Swampscott.
