NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Derrick Groves was sentenced to two mandatory life sentences Friday for opening fire on a Ninth Ward home on Mardi Gras Day in 2018.
Judge Dennis Waldron also sentenced Groves to 50 years for two counts each of attempted second-degree murder. The sentences will run consecutively.
District Attorney Jason Williams is expected to provide live updates on the sentencing.
