On Friday at 1:39 p.m. a winter weather advisory was released by the National Weather Service valid from Saturday 10 p.m. until Sunday 1 p.m. for Manhattan, the Bronx, Staten Island, Brooklyn and Queens as well as Suffolk and Nassau counties.

The weather service states to expect, "Total snow accumulations between 2 and 4 inches."

"Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous," comments the weather service. "Slow down and use caution while traveling. Check local Department of Transportation information services for the latest road conditions. Be prepared for slippery roads. Slow down and use caution while driving. If you are going outside, watch your first few steps taken on stairs, sidewalks, and driveways. These surfaces could be icy and slippery,
