Jelly Roll is opening up about life before his incredible weight loss journey.

Over the past few years, the 41-year-old “All My Life” singer, whose real name is Jason Bradley DeFord , has been on a weight loss journey and has lost 200lbs .

In a new interview, Jelly Roll said that he decided to embark on the journey after feeling like he was going to make it much longer.

“I could feel myself dying,” Jelly Roll shared on The Joe Rogan Experience .

He went on to say that he decided to start making some major lifestyle changes around his 39th birthday.

“I thought about it around my birthday ’cause I knew my next [birthday] was 40, and I was like … I don’t think I’ve ever met a 500-pound 40-year-old,” Jelly Roll recalled.
