On Saturday at 11:14 p.m. a winter weather advisory was released by the National Weather Service in effect until Sunday at 7 a.m. for Southern Wayne as well as Lackawanna, Luzerne and Pike counties.
"Total accumulations between 2 to 5 inches expected," describes the weather service. "Up to 2 inches of snow has already fallen. Expected steady snow to continue overnight, before tapering off from northwest to southeast toward daybreak."
"Plan on slippery road conditions," comments the weather service. "Slow down and use caution while traveling. The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission remind motorist to adjust speeds based on driving conditions as winter weather impacts Pennsylvania roadways."
