New affordable homes will be built on the site of a former working men's club.
Oaktree Living has submitted proposals outlining 13 residences at the Meadowfield Way location, featuring an assortment of bungalows alongside two and three-bedroom properties.
Regional housing organisation Livin Housing is expected to assume control of these dwellings upon completion.
Durham County Council gave the green light to the Newton Aycliffe development on Thursday (December 11).
The former Horndale Working Men’s Club closed in 2006 and has been vacant since.
