MORGANTON, N.C. — Morganton will reopen Catawba Meadows Park and an additional portion of the Catawba River Greenway on Monday, marking a significant milestone in the community's recovery from Hurricane Helene damage.
The reopening comes after several months of assessments, cleanup, repair and inspections to ensure public safety, according to a city announcement.
Most of Catawba Meadows Park will be accessible to visitors, including the Beanstalk Playground, beach volleyball court, disc golf course, picnic shelters and bathrooms. However, the softball and baseball fields will remain closed, along with Beanstalk Ziplines and its parking lot.
