SMITHTOWN, L.I -- After suffering its first defeat of the summer in the tourney opener Sunday, Great Kills LL bounced back in a big way as it pounded Saugerties to the tune of a 15-0 mercy-rule win Monday at the New York State All-Star 10s softball tournament at St. James/Smithtown LL.

Manager Alyson Chiaramonte’s troops are back in losers’ bracket action Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. where they will meet East Meadow LL. A win against EMLL and the Great Kills loop will move on in the losers’ bracket later Tuesday afternoon (4 p.m.) against the Poughkeepsie-Orchard Park survivor.
