Police say one person was stabbed in South Boston late Saturday night and a suspect is now in custody.
Shortly after 11 p.m., Boston police said they responded to the area of Preble Street and Old Colony Avenue for a report of a person who had been stabbed. They said the victim, whose name has not been released, was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No update on their condition was available on Sunday.

Massachusetts State Police, who have jurisdiction over the investigation, said Boston police apprehended a suspect a short time later on a nearby street.
The scene cleared and reopened to normal traffic around 2:30 a.m. Sunday.
