KEARNEY, Neb. (KSNB) - Kearney Police are investigating a weekend shooting that wounded a man in both legs.
Police and paramedics responded to the area of north Railroad Street and Avenue A near downtown Kearney at 3:22 a.m. following a medical call involving a man with a gunshot wound to his leg.
Police determined the shooting happened during a fight at a party in the area. During the confrontation, police said several shots were fired by multiple people, resulting in a 30-year-old male from Kearney being shot in both legs.
The man was taken to CHI Good Samaritan Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and has since been released.
During the investigation, investigators determined the shooting was not a random act of violence but rather a result of the confrontation.
