(KTVZ Bend, OR). Today is a Local Alert Day with the chance for some strong storms to develop in the afternoon and linger into the evening. The storms today will mark the third day in a row with storms developing in the heat of the day.

Monday a couple of cells generated significant rainfall and lightning in La Pine, Bend and Sisters before dissipating. Tuesday was much less active in the Tri-Counties, but still a couple of storms pushed through west of 97 and near the east face of the Cascades.

Today and Thursday will be much more robust and widespread. The storms should move through in the middle to late afternoon. The staying power of the storms will be greater today and tomorrow as the activity will last into the evening.
