Manitoba RCMP are investigating two unrelated drowning incidents that claimed the lives of two men on Saturday.
The first occurred around 2 p.m. at Reynolds Ponds in the RM of Reynolds. According to the RCMP, a 70-year-old man from Ontario had been swimming when he suddenly disappeared beneath the surface and did not resurface. Bystanders searched the water while waiting for help to arrive. Members of the Manitoba RCMP Underwater Recovery Team were later deployed and located the man deceased.
