Manitoba RCMP are investigating two unrelated drowning incidents that claimed the lives of two men on Saturday.

The first occurred around 2 p.m. at Reynolds Ponds in the RM of Reynolds. According to the RCMP, a 70-year-old man from Ontario had been swimming when he suddenly disappeared beneath the surface and did not resurface. Bystanders searched the water while waiting for help to arrive. Members of the Manitoba RCMP Underwater Recovery Team were later deployed and located the man deceased.

Later that evening, at approximately 8 p.m., Selkirk RCMP were called to Grand Beach after two men fell from a pool flotation device into the lake. A nearby kayaker managed to rescue one of the men, but the other did not resurface. The Manitoba Underwater Recovery Team was brough
