KEARNEY, Neb. (KSNB) - Windy Hills Elementary School is getting ready to kick off the school year with some new renovations throughout their facility.
To celebrate the new era, Kearney Public Schools is inviting families, staff and community members to a ‘Homecoming’ ribbon-cutting ceremony at the school.
The $8.4 million project saw the 45-year-old building get some much needed upgrades to their H-VAC system, classrooms, entrances, student support spaces and many other parts of the school.
Principal, Jason Calahan said he’s most excited about the improved lighting and use of space inside the building.
“There was a lot of wasted space in the classrooms,” Calahan said. “Storage space is a huge issue that we’ve addressed and lighting, windows. It’s just a bright open space that makes sen
