MARLBORO HOUSES, Brooklyn (PIX11) – A man is accused of running his own business when he was supposed to be doing work for NYCHA, according to the Department of Investigation.

Officials said 56-year-old Nabil Ibrahim started employment with NYCHA in February 2024 as a field inspector and had a salary of over $86,000 a year. His job responsibilities included checking on contractors at NYCHA developments across the city.

Ibrahim clocked into his job at the Marlboro Houses in Brooklyn on April 15, but the DOI said investigators surveilled him working on his heating and cooling business. Officials said Ibrahim allegedly worked for his own business on city time another eight times from April to July 2025.
