CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The WCNC Charlotte Weather Impact Team issued a Weather Alert for Tuesday through Wednesday morning due to periods of heavy rain and flash flooding in the Charlotte area.

Flash Flood Warnings were issued for Mecklenburg, Stanly and York counties in the Charlotte area. As of 5 p.m., all of the flood warnings were canceled and water levels were receding.

"It's still high, so stay away from the greenways, creeks and streams," Chief Meteorologist Brad Panovich said. "Give them time, plus there's a lot of debris out there that needs to be cleaned up."
