BROKEN BOW, Okla. (KTAL/KMSS) – One person was arrested after the McCurtain County Sheriff's Office responded to a reported stabbing.
On August 2, 2025, at around 12:37 a.m., sheriff's deputies responded to a call on Old Broken Bow Highway, informing police that the suspect, Eric Rankins, had arrived at his house, telling him to call 911 because Rankins had stabbed his cousin.
When deputies arrived, they spoke with the 911 caller and Rankins. When asked what had happened, Rankins informed the deputy that he had stabbed his cousin at 142 Peony Rd., where Rankins and the victim both lived.
At the Peony Road location, deputies found a victim suffering from multiple stab wounds, and he was pronounced dead by McCurtain County EMS.
