CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - Delays began to pile up at Charlotte Douglas International Airport Tuesday afternoon as heavy rain moved through the region.

According to FlightAware , as of 12:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 5, 95 flights were delayed and 2 were canceled at Charlotte airport.

Flash flood warning in Mecklenburg County

Mecklenburg County was placed under a flash flood warning on Tuesday morning.

The warning was issued due to heavy rainfall from numerous rounds of showers continuing to move through the Charlotte metro area.

Storm-total rainfall over the last four to six hours reportedly exceeded three to four inches across the southern portion of the county.
