OWENSBORO, Ky. (WFIE) - The success of a fishing event in 2024 has it returning in 2025.

The “King Kids” youth event is scheduled for October 11, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Yellow Creek Park.

The event is put on by King Kat and Visit Owensboro.

Officials say to bring your fishing gear and bait, because a limited supply will be available that day.

This event is open to all families with children ages 15 and under.

The Yellow Creek Park Lake is part of the Fishing in Neighborhoods program with catfish and rainbow trout stocked multiple times a year.

Anyone 16 and older must possess a statewide fishing license to participate.
