PORTLAND, Ore. — The earthquake-ready Burnside Bridge Project will receive $10 million in funding through Oregon Metro's Regional Flexible Funding Allocation.

Metro Council approved nearly a quarter of a billion dollars for the 2028-2030 regional flexible funding allocation cycle on Thursday. The money comes from the federal government and can be used for various transportation projects.

The $10 million that was awarded will go to fund improving access to transit, such as rebuilding and constructing new bus stops, pedestrian refuge islands, sidewalk reconstruction, bike lanes and making other accessibility upgrades.
