MIAMI, Fla. — U.S. District Judge Kathleen Williams will hear arguments Wednesday regarding a lawsuit brought against the state-run ICE detention facility known as “Alligator Alcatraz” by a collection of environmental groups.

The hearing is set to begin at 9:00 a.m. and is scheduled to take the rest of the day in Miami.

The groups, led by Friends of the Everglades, are seeking an injunction against the state of Florida and President Donald Trump’s administration over the construction of the facility in Big Cypress National Preserve.

Friends of the Everglades first brought the suit in June, where they argued the state and federal agencies violated the National Environmental Policy Act .
