SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - It’s an event meant to bring together communities and connect them with the people who work to serve and protect them.

Tuesday night was “National Night Out”.

Seven locations around the Sioux city metro featured free food, bouncy houses, snow cones, and even dunk tanks.

The event is meant to encourage Sioux City residents to get outside and spend the evening with neighbors and police officers at neighborhood events.

The goal? Promote neighborhood involvement in crime prevention.

South Sioux City Bike Rodeo

In conjunction with “National Night Out”, the Optimist Club of South Sioux City hosted a night of fun on two wheels.

Tonight’s “bike rodeo” was a chance for kids to practice their skills.

Kids could ride through six stations.
