Wednesday notes… • ONE GAME TO GO: This is just the fifth of the Cubs’ 38 series in which they lost the first two games. The only previous time as the home team was the season-opening series vs. the Dodgers in Tokyo, where the series consisted of only just two games. They won the third game of the three such series on the road, at St. Louis on June 26, Minnesota on July 10 and Milwaukee on July 30.
