Rob Edwards has detailed Middlesbrough's recruitment process, praising the work of Kieran Scott and head of recruitment Chris Jones on player identification.
The summer has not proven an easy one for Boro so far but they made a crucial breakthrough this week in securing top target Callum Brittain. The former Blackburn Rovers man has been one of the top right-backs in the Championship in recent years, with Boro needing to strengthen that area.
But in an effort to be a more self-sustainable club, Scott and Co have been tasked with finding players who represent better value for money, and, if needs be, with future sell-on value too. In this sense, they've had numerous successes as the club try to reduce their astronomical losses in recent years.
Edwards, of course, had prior relations
