NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – Mostly dry conditions are still in place this morning. Way-above-freezing temperatures are still once again confined to most of the higher peaks of the Northern Mountains with valley floor locations mostly starting off in the upper 40s or in the 50s, while elsewhere is mostly starting off in the high 50s to the low-to-mid 70s.

More-persistent west-northwesterly winds aloft with a high pressure system drifting slightly more to the southwest of New Mexico will combine to squeeze out a little bit more in the way of moisture once again in the form of some rounds of Monsoonal thunderstorms across the higher elevations through Central to East New Mexico, including parts of the Four Corners, excluding Southwest Colorado’s higher fire threat.
