BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) -- A 7-year-old boy is in the hospital after he was hit while riding an electric scooter.
Emergency crews were called to the area of Glenridge Road and Ridgefield Avenue just before 3:30 p.m. Wednesday. The crash report states a boy was riding an electric scooter southbound on Glenridge Road when he failed to stop at a stop sign and was hit by a car.
The boy was taken to Mercy Health Youngstown with what reports describe as minor injuries to his face, knees and feet, as well as possible neck injuries.
The boy's mother told police he said the brakes on the electric scooter didn't work, which is why he was unable to stop at the intersection, according to the incident report.
