It was a warm and mostly dry day across Eastern Kentucky, with just a few isolated showers dotting the region this afternoon.

Sunshine dominated for most of the day, helping temperatures climb into the upper 80s in several spots.

We’re still under the influence of a broad, summer-like pattern with light southeast flow and plenty of moisture in the air.

That humid air helped fuel those spotty pop-up showers, and we’ll hang onto a small chance for a few more this evening before skies clear out overnight.

Heading into the weekend and early next week, the forecast stays relatively steady thanks to a persistent ridge of high pressure nearby and subtle disturbances riding around its edge.
