WAYNESVILLE, N.C. (WSPA) - A Waynesville man was sentenced to at least in prison for calling a bomb threat to a North Carolina courthouse.
On March 19, 33-year-old Cody Blake Strickler called 911 dispatch to report a bomb at the Haywood County Justice Center.
"The emergency is at the courthouse, the new one, there’s a bomb, C4, sausage links on detonators remote switches, you need to evacuate the courthouse now," Strickler said, according to the District Attorney's Office for the 43rd Prosecutorial District.
The courthouse and Main Street were blocked off and deputies responded with an explosive detection K9. No bomb was found.
