PORTLAND, Ore. — Two women linked to a coordinated theft spree of jewelry stores in Oregon and Washington have been indicted for first-degree theft.

The charges relate to a June 4 incident at a coin and precious metals shop in Southeast Portland. The owner reported that the two women entered the store and used "sleight of hand" to steal a $3,400 gold coin, and attempted to steal another.

A similar situation happened in Lynwood and Lakewood, Wash., with two women who matched their description. The woman are accused of successfully stealing items valued in the thousands of dollars, including a $9,500 necklace from a Lynwood jewelry store, Lynwood police said.
